Today I discovered a very nice feature that shipped with the Release 2020 Wave 2… a PCF component that enables you to enter rich text in a ‘Multiple Lines of Text’ field.
This is how you need to configure it.
Open the form on which the field is displayed and double click the field to open the properties.
On the Controls tab, add the control Rich Text Editor Control and select where you want to use it.
In this case, we use the description field on the account entity.
Don’t forget to save and publish the form.
Now let’s have a look at the result.
How cool is this!!
I’m guessing many customer will be equally exited as I am about (finally) having this option.
Word Templates
When using this field in a Word Template, we will only receive the text without any formatting
SDK Calls
When retrieving this data through the SDK, we will receive the entire HTML markup as a result.
So keep this in mind when this field us used in some kind of integration scenario!
please give some guidance, on How we get Word Template, with all the formatting?
Hi, Any idea how to configure RTE for Email Description? In my case it just ignores webresources with settings
Hi, Can you elaborate on what you mean withe 'webresource'? You shouldn't really need a webresource for this, the email entity is RTE OOB...
I have just checked this and the HTML format is removed when using Word Templates. You just receive the text that is inside. Images are stripped also
I'm wondering if this will work in Word Templates too.
